Whitney Schmidt's Wedding Day close up after saying I do

Hello + welcome! It has been a while since we last seen you all! We have been super duper busy with so many transitions; summer sales, bridal shows, market, and our NEW WEBSITE! Seriously, comment on what you think about our new website!  In celebration we are highlighting Whitney Schmidt’s Wedding Day!

To celebrate so many changes this past summer, we are highlighting one of the most beautiful brides (inside and out) you will ever meet! Did I mention, her energy just LIGHTS UP A ROOM?!?

We were so happy to hear she wanted to share her love story with us! Here is what she had to say….

“I met Colt 2 years ago through mutual friends. We graduated from the same college so we had a lot of friends in common & ran into each other at different events. Fast forward to October, 2017… I randomly messaged him on Facebook telling him to let me know the next time he was in Fort Worth so we could grab a drink (he was currently living just north of Austin). Little did I know the drink on October 2, 2017 would lead to an engagement, 7 months later.”

Whitney talks about how she lost her dad years prior to her wedding day. Read what she had to say and get the tissue box ready!

“My dad passed away suddenly 6 years ago. Colt was never able to meet him but has heard his fair share of stories of how much I miss him. May 25 is my father’s birthday & since his passing, it has always been a hard day for me. I told Colt months ago when my dad’s birthday was & almost “warned” him about how hard it’s been the past couple years. I have the best friends in the entire world so they suggested that we go out to dinner that night & find the brick I had made for my dad.”

Now, I am sure you’re wondering what Whitney means by “the brick” she had made for her dad…Here is the backstory to that….

“When I was much younger, my father had a brick made & placed on the sidewalk of downtown Mansfield, TX with my name & birthday on it. So, when he passed, I only found it fitting to order him one & have it placed next door to his old office. Over the past couple of years, I have driven past the location it was placed but I never had the courage to get out of the car & find this brick of his. For some reason, I felt it would be too emotional to do alone. So, I thought we were going to have dinner & maybe walk by the brick on the way there. I never thought twice about it, considering it would’ve been my dad’s 68th birthday. Once we got to the brick, Colt stepped back & proposed to me in the most thoughtful way I could’ve imagined.

He proposed in the place I felt my dad’s presence the most – in downtown Mansfield, in front of his office.”

Whitney Schmidt's Wedding Day I Do

Not only did Whitney find her dream dress and say #YES, but she also found an extended family with us. We are not here to make sale. Let me repeat that, we are not here to make a sale. We are here to help you make an educated decision and to be MORE than just a bridal store. That means going beyond the sale, after you say yes, and after you no longer purchase from us. This is what we mean by an extended family.
